In this episode, I talk to the great comedian, STEPHEN GRANT about his comedy career.
Based in Brighton, Grant is a comedian, writer, and radio presenter. At the time of recording the podcast, he ran and compered the Krater Comedy Club at the city’s Komedia venue from 1999 to 2022. The club won the Chortle Award for Best Comedy Club in the South for 2002 to 2006, 2008, and 2011 to 2014. In 2008 and 2011, Grant won the Chortle Award for Best Compere. After 23 years, the Komedia ended his contract to run weekend nights at the Krater Comedy Club so in January 2022, Grant launched and is regular compere for the Forge Comedy Club at the Ironworks Studios in Brighton’s North Laine. The opening night featured the headliner, Romesh Ranganathan.
I have seen Grant perform many times over the years including his solo show Second at the Edinburgh Fringe in 2008 as well as comparing The Krater Comedy Club in 2015, 2017, online in 2020 and Krater Comedy on the beach in 2021.

In this episode, I talk to the fantastic comedian, SIKISA about her comedy career.
Hailing from Barbados and based in South London, Sikisa has become of the most thrilling acts currently on the circuit, gaining audience appreciation with her vibrant and bold routines. She was a finalist at the 2007 BBC New Comedy Award competition and regularly appears on stage with a warm and endearing presence delivering razor-sharp material.
I first saw Sikisa live in 2020 where she was a guest for Always Be Comedy and has appeared for the club many times since during 2020 and 2021 both online and live as a compere or an act. I have also seen her perform for Live @ Limehouse and Vix Leyton’s Comedy Arcade in 2020 as well as her solo work-in-progress show Bad Guy at the Brighton Fringe in 2021.

In this episode, I talk to the brilliant comedian, PATRICK MONAHAN about his comedy career.
On stage, Irish Iranian comedian Monahan has an exceptionally lively comic charm with hysterical and razor-sharp observational material. Winner of the 2011 ITV series, Show Me The Funny, the comedian has never looked back and is amazing with an audience. He is a regular performer on the comedy circuit appearing at festivals and comedy clubs.
I have seen Monahan many times live over the years from Late ‘N’ Live and Mervyn Stutter’s Pick of The Fringe at the Edinburgh Fringe in 2009 and 2016 / 2017 to the 99 Club Comedy in 2017 and the Clapham Comedy Club in 2020 both in London. He is wonderful to watch and a highly acclaimed stand-up comedian.

In this episode, I talk to the wonderful comedian, JACOB HAWLEY about his comedy career.
Starting in 2014, London based working class comedian Jacob Hawley is now a regular on the comedy circuit. As well as columnist for The Metro newspaper, he also has two hit podcasts Jacob Hawley: On Drugs and Jacob Hawley: On Love.
Since 2020, I have seen Hawley many times at Always Be Comedy both live and online and watched him develop into an excellent comedian. He is a extremely self-assured performer with an appealing charisma and is highly recommended.

In this episode, I talk to the very funny comedian, CARL DONNELLY about his comedy career.
After winning the Chortle Awards for Best Newcomer and the Leicester Mercury Comedian of the Year Award both in 2007, Donnelly garnered status as one of Britain’s funniest comedians and comperes. Brilliant at audience participation, he appears regularly at comedy clubs and festivals.
I have seen Donnelly many times over the years including compering and appearing in shows for the Edinburgh Fringe from 2009 to 2018, 99 Club Comedy in 2015, Always Be Comedy in 2016, 2017 and 2020 and Save Live Comedy at the Clapham Grand in 2020

In this episode, I talk to one of my favourite comedians, RICH WILSON about his comedy career.
Whilst working as a barman at Up The Creek Comedy Club in South East London, Wilson was inspired by the comedy acts he saw on stage and decided to try stand-up in 2004. Since then, he has never looked back gaining a reputation as one of Britain’s best comedians. He quickly became a regular on the comedy circuit and headlines many major comedy clubs often reducing me to hysterics when I watch him live.
In 2019, Wilson launched his incredibly successful podcast Insane In The Men Brain where he chats to fellow comedians. I have watched him perform many times, from his own acclaimed solo show, Death Becomes Him at the Edinburgh Fringe in 2019, to headlining shows for fellow comedian and promoter Vix Leyton, and playing major comedy clubs such as Up The Creek and Always Be Comedy in 2020. He can also be heard weekly on the digital station Islington Radio presenting his show The Tuned Up Time Machine.

A familiar act at comedy festivals and clubs worldwide, and having performed several acclaimed solo shows at the Edinburgh Fringe, McLoughlin has supported Ricky Gervais on a world tour and opened for Bill Burr in London.
I have seen the comedian perform many times including support for Katherine Ryan on her Glam Role Model in 2015 and for appearances at Always Be Comedy in 2016. 2018, 2020 and 2021. He has consistently managed to reduce me to hysterical laughter when I have seen him live on stage and he is highly recommended.

In this episode, I talk to the brilliant comedian, MARK WATSON about his comedy career.
Watson has had a long and varied career as a stand-up comedian. He is a regular at the Edinburgh Fringe being nominated for Best Newcomer at the 2005 Perrier Awards and winning the first ever Panel Prize at the if.comeddies in 2006. In the same year, he also received a Barry Award nomination for best show at the Melbourne Comedy Festival as well as the Time Out Critics Choice Award.
Since 2006, I have enjoyed watching Watson’s solo shows at The Edinburgh Fringe including I’m Worried That I’m Starting to Hate Almost Everything in the World in 2006, Do I Know You in 2010, Flaws in 2014, Festival of Bad Ideas in 2017 and I Appreciate You Coming to This and Let’s Hope for the Best in 2019. I have also seen online versions of his twenty-four charity shows The Watsonathon in 2020 together with other performances including Always Be Comedy in 2020 and 2021. The comedian is also an acclaimed author and his ideas are always very clever and extremely funny.

In this episode, I talk to one of my favourite comedians, NICK HELM about his comedy career.
The comedian, actor and rock musician is famous for his confrontational style of comedy, is hilariously funny and has built up a cult status over the years. Helm starred in the BBC Three comedy series Uncle from 2012 to 2017
A regular Edinburgh Fringe favourite since 2010, I have watched his solo show Masterworks in Progress at the Pleasance Theatre in 2017 and his solo triumphant show Phoenix From The Flames in 2019. I have seen him perform many times for Always Be Comedy from 2016 to 2021 and have watched his infamous Christmas Show at the Pleasance Theatre in London every year since 2017.

In this episode, I talk to one of Britain’s most popular comedians, JOE LYCETT about his comedy career.
Lycett won the Chortle Student Comedian of The Year competition in 2009, the runner-up in the 2009 Laughing Horse New Act of the Year in the same year, and a finalist in the 2011 BBC New Comedy Awards. In 2012, his acclaimed debut stand-up show Some Lycett Hot was nominated for Best Newcomer at the Edinburgh Comedy Awards. In 2016, his book Parsnips, Buttered was published and in 2019, and a TV regular, his consumer show Joe Lycett’s Got Your Back began broadcasting on Channel 4. Also, in 2019, he became the host of the BBCs, The Great British Sewing Bee and in 2021, he was a subject on the popular ancestry show Who Do You Think You Are.
One of my absolute favourite comedians, I have seen Lycett perform many times including at the Edinburgh Fringe his solo show That’s The Way Aha Aha Joe Lycett in 2015 and for Always Be Comedy from 2016 to 2021 where his unique style of comedy has repeatedly reduced me to fits of hysterical laughter.
