In this episode, I talk to the hilarious comedian TIERNAN DOUIEB about his comedy career.

Douieb has been performing political comedy both in the UK and internationally for over ten years. He has written for the TV show Frankie Boyle’s New Word Order (as well as touring with the comedian) and has a successful podcast Party Political Broadcast.  I first saw him at Mark Watson’s Watsonathon, an online version of his 24-hour comedy marathon where Douieb was subject to all manner of awful tasks which he happily achieved.

EPISODE 12: HAL CRUTTENDEN

In this episode, I talk to one of my favourite comedians HAL CRUTTENDEN about his comedy career.

Cruttenden is a writer and actor as well as being one of the top-rated comedians currently working in the UK.  He has appeared many times on TV including Live At The Apollo and Mock The Week and I have seen him perform numerous times on stage.  His delivery of a punchline to a humorous story or joke is immaculate and his timing is perfection.  He is an exceptionally funny comedian and is highly recommended.

In this episode, I chat to the wonderful comedian PAUL COX about his comedy career.

Cox is an English stand-up comedian and writer.  He has performed comedy all over the UK and is a member of the London based sketch group Unhinged.  I first saw him in 2016 and then on several occasions on the London based free comedy club Birdies.  I was hooked by his superb delivery of a funny story and he was a joy to watch.

Younger is a stand-up comedian, actor and writer who on stage is frank, feisty, sharp and engaging.  She has performed at major comedy clubs around the UK and Europe.  I have seen her many times and she makes me continuously laugh out loud.  Her online chat show MY Comedy Chats was a weekly fixture online in 2020 / 2021 as well as her successful podcast WTB together with comedians Allyson June Smith and Jen Brister.  Younger is a highly recommended comedian.

EPISODE 08: BOOTHBY GRAFFOE

In this episode, I talk to the wonderful musical comedian BOOTHBY GRAFFOE about his comedy career.

Graffoe is a comedian, singer songwriter and playwright.  He is particularly known for his surreal sense of humour and I have been a fan for years.  I first saw him at The Stand Comedy Club at the Edinburgh Fringe in 2005 where he had the audience singing different parts of his song Baseball Playing Spiders to brilliant comic effect.  He has released several brilliant CDs which so many catchy tunes with bizarre lyrics.  It is always a joy to see him perform and in 2021, I was a regular every Thursday at his online show Songs and Stories.

EPISODE 07: LUKE KEMPNER

In this episode, I chat to the brilliant impressionist, actor and comedian LUKE KEMPNER about his comedy career.

He made a hit video Downstairs At Downton in 2012 playing all the characters which transformed into his successful one man show The Only Way is Downton that toured nationwide and appeared for two years in succession at the Edinburgh Fringe. His accurate and hilarious impersonations include Andy Murray, Alan Carr, Russell Brand and Tom Daley and I have seen and laughed at his act many times.  In 2021, he made regular appearances on the Channel 4 lunchtime magazine show Steph’s Packed Lunch.

In this episode, I chat to the excellent comedian TOM DEACON about his comedy career.

Comedian, DJ, and presenter Deacon has performed on stage numerous times and on TV he has appeared in many programmes, including Dave’s One Night Stand, The Rob Brydon Show and Edinburgh and Beyond.

I have really enjoyed his routines at the Always Be Comedy club where he was sometimes a guest compere as well as a solo performer.  He had an effortless ability to create wonderful random stories and routines and is highly recommended.

EPISODE 05 - STEVE GRIBBIN

In this episode, I talk to the brilliant musical comedian STEVE GRIBBIN about his comedy career.

Armed with guitar, Steve Gribbin is a hysterically funny comedian from Liverpool, UK, whose wonderful comedy songs and superb observations have made him one of the firm favourites of the comedy circuit.

Gribbin was on the first bill that I ever saw at the comedy store in 1988. As one half of musical comedy group Skint Video in the nineties, he then went solo. I have been a big fan ever since and have watched and laughed so much at him many times.  Highlights include his acclaimed solo show Shunted Again ion 2017 at the Edinburgh Fringe in 2017 and since 2020 every Sunday, his online show Songbashing Sundae is highly recommended.

EPISODE 04: MATT RICHARDSON

In this episode, I, talk to the talk to one of my favourite comedians MATT RICHARDSON about his comedy career.

Matt Richardson is an award-winning presenter and comedian.  At 18 years of age, Richardson began performing stand-up comedy in 2009. He appeared in the finals of So You Think You’re Funny and the Chortle Student Comedian of the Year in 2010. Richardson's first solo show, Hometown Hero, won Best New Show at the 2012 Leicester Comedy Festival and went on tour in 2013 / 2014. At the Edinburgh Fringe, I saw his further solo shows Slash (which went on tour) in 2017 and Imposter in 2019 (which is continuing to tour in 2021). 

Richardson has all the ingredients of a great comedian – confidence, delivery, timing, and great material.  I have seen him many times on stage and he made me cry with laughter..
