EPISODE 46: KEVIN DAY
In this episode, I talk to the fantastic comedian, KEVIN DAY about his comedy career.
Day is a British stand-up comedian, sports presenter and comedy writer. He was a regular at The Comedy Store in London in the late eighties and early nineties. He has written for many comedians including Dave Allen and Jo Brand. In 2005, became a programme associate on the BBC’s long running topical news quiz Have I Got News For You. Since 2004, he has been a regular on Match of The Day 2 and has appeared on and written for other TV and radio shows.
Day has effortlessly made me laugh continuously whenever I have watched him. I have seen his solo shows Standy Uppy in 2014 and Hairline in 2015 both at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival as well as performing for Always Be Comedy online in 2021.

In this episode, I talk to the fantastic comedian, GLENN MOORE about his comedy career.
Moore is a comedian, actor and one of the most creative joke writers in the UK. In 2011, he was a finalist for the Chortle Student Comedian of the Year Award whilst studying and after graduating in English Literature, he worked as a newsreader for a variety of radio stations by day and performing stand-up in the evenings. Moore is a regular performer on the comedy circuit and nominated at the Edinburgh Comedy Awards during the 2018 Edinburgh Fringe. He has also appeared on many TV shows including Mock The Week for BBC and The Stand Up Sketch Up Show for ITV2.
I have seen Moore perform many times for Always Be Comedy as well as The Big Funny Fest and The Camden Fringe between 2017 and 2021.

In this episode, I talk to the fantastic comedian JEN BRISTER about her comedy career.
Brister is an exceptionally talented and extremely funny comedian who often talks on stage about her Spanish mum, the relationship with her partner and her twin boys. She is superb at displaying levels of frustration or ranting for comic effect and is a wonderfully compelling performer.
I have watched her comic routines and compering many times at Always Be Comedy and other venues since 2017 as well as her solo Edinburgh shows Meaningless in 2018 and Under Privilege in 2019. She is also co-host of a successful podcast with comedian Maureen Younger and author of the book The Other Mother, published in 2019.

In this episode, I talk to one of my favourite comedians, JUSTIN MOORHOUSE about his comedy career.
Moorhouse began his career at the famous Frog and Bucket Comedy Club in Manchester and in 2002, he won a local comedy competition appearing at The Comedy Store in the city. This led to touring and appearing as Young Kenny in the Channel 4 classic comedy series Phoenix Nights alongside Peter Kay and a wonderful cast. He has also been a radio DJ, and actor appearing on stage at the Royal Exchange Theatre in Manchester, in the film Looking For Eric released in 2009 and on TV in Coronation Street in 2014. Moorhouse is a popular MC at The Comedy Store both in Manchester and London and he regularly performs stand-up comedy across Britain.
I have seen Moorhouse perform many times to great acclaim with his solo Edinburgh Fringe shows from 2007 to 2010 and 2014 to 2018 as well as for The Comedy Store, Always Be Comedy, Return of The Craic and Headliners Comedy Club from 2019 to 2021. I always look forward to seeing his name on a bill and whenever I have watched him, he has made me consistently laugh out loud until my sides ache.

In this episode, I talk to the comedy legend, ARTHUR SMITH about his comedy career.
Beginning his alternative stand-up career in the 1980s, Smith, the self-proclaimed Night Mayor of Balham, regularly appeared at London’s Comedy Store and many comedy clubs in the capital. He has attended most Edinburgh Festival Fringe’s since 1977 and as well as performing stand-up comedy, he has presented TV shows and written books and plays, most notable An Evening with Gary Lineker.
I have seen and really enjoyed him live on stage many times in London and Edinburgh including his solo shows Cobbled Up Shambles in 2010, Arthur Smith Sings Leonard Cohen (Vols 1 – 3) in 2013, 2014 and 2017, Oh Hazel in 2015 and Syd in 2018. I also attended Arthur Smith in Conversation with Beyond the Title in 2021 where he discussed his prestigious forty-year career in British comedy.

Runner Up at the Brighton Comedy Festival New Act of the Year 2015 and the Audience Favourite Act winner at the Musical Comedy Awards 2016, Long has a relaxed and genial style on stage and delivers sharp-written witty songs and stand-up comedy.
I have been a supporter of Long since the start of his career, first watching him perform three shows for the We Are Comedy Project in Liverpool Street and at the Duke’s Head in Putney in 2013 before his Edinburgh Fringe solo shows Troubadour in 2018 and Planet Killing Machine in 2019.

I have seen her perform many times at Always Be Comedy and in 2019, I saw her debut solo show Telephone Voice at the Edinburgh Fringe where she was a delight to watch.
